S2 Lakes are situated around Várpalota, along the road to Ősi. The lakes were formed during coal mining which began in 1876. The mines were closed in 1996, ending a 120-year period. We have no longer coal mines, but the lakes remained. The lake system consists of three lakes, of which the largest is S2 Upper Lake with a water surface of 26 hectares. The lake bed is sometimes pretty rough and varies wildly. The average depth of the lake is between 60 cm to almost 4 m.  We offer for our fishermen and our guests 14 boilie fishing posts and a separated spot for fine fishing.
